Auto-Responses

Create automatic responses that trigger when members send messages matching specific keywords, phrases, or patterns. Support text replies, embeds, reactions, and direct messages.

Auto-Response Features

Create custom triggers that respond automatically to messages, freeing up your moderation team and keeping your community informed.

Trigger Types

Choose how the trigger matches messages: Contains, Exact Match, Starts With, Ends With, or Regex. This gives you full control over when a response fires.

Response Types

Respond with a text message, a rich embed, or an emoji reaction added to the triggering message.

Dynamic Placeholders

Use {user}, {server}, {channel}, and {triggerWord} in your response to personalise each reply with live values.

Per-Rule Cooldowns

Set a cooldown (in seconds) on each auto-response rule to prevent it from firing too frequently in busy channels.

Global Settings

Configure a global cooldown that applies across all rules, choose whether to ignore messages from bots, and toggle case sensitivity for all triggers.

Enable and Disable

Each rule can be enabled or disabled individually. Paused rules remain saved but will not trigger until re-enabled.

Configuration

Auto-response rules are managed from the Auto-Responses tab of Community Studio.

Global Cooldown

Set a minimum time (in seconds) between any auto-response firing. This prevents multiple rules from spamming replies in quick succession.

Ignore Bots

Toggle whether messages from other bots should be ignored by auto-responses. Typically left on to avoid feedback loops.

Case Sensitivity

Toggle whether trigger matching is case-sensitive. When off, "Hello" and "hello" will both match the same trigger.

Rule Settings

Each rule has its own name, trigger type, trigger pattern, response type, response content, cooldown, and enabled toggle.

Getting Started

Set up auto-responses in a few simple steps.
1

Enable Auto-Responses

Toggle the Auto-Responses module on from the Auto-Responses tab of Community Studio.
2

Set Global Options

Configure the global cooldown, bot ignoring, and case sensitivity to your preference.
3

Create a Rule

Add a new rule with a trigger type, pattern, and response. Choose text, embed, or reaction.
4

Test and Refine

Send a test message in Discord to confirm the rule triggers as expected. Adjust the cooldown and pattern as needed.
