Reaction Roles

Let members assign themselves roles by clicking buttons on embedded panels. Create multiple panels with custom emojis, labels, and colours.

Self-Assign Roles

Empower your members to choose their own roles without needing to ask a moderator.

Role Panels

Create styled embed panels with a title, description, and colour. Each panel is posted in the channel of your choice and contains buttons members can click to toggle roles.

Toggle Roles

Members click a button to add a role and click it again to remove it. No commands are required, making the self-assign process simple and accessible.

Multiple Panels

Create as many panels as you need for different role categories such as colour roles, notification preferences, or game interests.

Custom Emojis

Use standard Unicode emojis or your server's custom emojis on each button for a personal touch that matches your community's style.

Button Labels

Optionally add a text label to each button (up to 80 characters) so members know exactly which role they are selecting.

Repost Panels

Made changes to a panel that is already posted? Use the repost button to update it in place without creating a duplicate message.

Configuration

Reaction role panels are managed from the Reaction Roles tab inside the Roles area of Community Studio.

Panel Details

Set a title, description, and embed colour for the panel. This is the message members see in Discord with the role buttons attached.

Panel Channel

Choose the Discord channel where the panel should be posted. Members interact with the panel directly in this channel.

Role Mappings

Add one or more role mappings to the panel. Each mapping links an emoji and an optional label to a Discord role.

Post and Repost

New panels are posted when you save. If you edit a panel that is already live, use the repost action to push the changes to Discord.

Getting Started

Set up reaction roles in a few simple steps.
1

Enable Reaction Roles

Open Roles in Community Studio and switch to the Reaction Roles tab to turn the module on.
2

Create a Panel

Add a new panel with a title, description, and colour, then choose the channel to post it in.
3
